I have had this happen a few  times but this time it isn't fixing itself. Before it would run really slow for a couple of weeks and then one day it would just start running right and not lag. This last tie however it hasn't fixed itself yet. I read something about the graphics driver and going back to an older one or something but the one in it is from 2015. Any Ideas where to start?

CamBam files (*.cb) / Re: Postprocessor for Edm wire cutting

if you will look in the post processor forum I posted on for the Fanuc. It still has some work to do but it does work to an extent.  Haven't figured out how to take the Z moves out but you can edit and cut them out.  It will call the G92,m86, and m46 out also. You put your Epack? number where it says Plunge rate and it will call it up as well.  Trying to find someone who can help me with modifying so the Z is gone and I can re label some things.

Any questions feel free to send me a message. I'm still trying to figure some stuff out on the Fanuc. 99% of whats in my area is Mitsubishi so not a lot of help

I posted one that I wrote for a Fanuc Robocut over in the post processors a couple of weeks ago. Might help you out

I think he was also now. I went in and reloaded the DXF and and converted and took arcs out and it rotated like it should. can now use the engrave to get the toolpath and then just loop it side to side as needed. thanks!!!!!

I have to make it a polyline before bringing it into CB? I opened the dxf then converted it in CB but if needed I can do it before. What I didn't do though is remove the arcs. I'll try that...

Wrote this to help with programming out Fadal 6030 mill. It still needs some tweaking I'm sure but right now it will add the G43 line as long as your H and D are the same number as your tool number. It does at least put the line in where you can change it if needed. Also puts a G49 at the end. There may be one on here already and if so point me to it as I'd like to see what is different if anything.

Post Processors (*.cbpp) / Processor for Fanuc Wire EDM
« on: March 01, 2022, 11:44:30 am »
I wrote this the other day to help with writing programs for our EDM.  It's still a work in progress as there are some more things I want it to do but I've got to figure them out. It will add the G92 command as well as call up the Epack or info by inputting that number as the plunge rate. Also turns on M86 and M46.  I want to learn how to change the template so that instead of saying Plunge rate it will say Epack number or something like that. if anyone has information on how to do that let me know. Thanks!!!

we have a profile that we need to mill in the YZ axis. I can draw it then import into CB but once I start rotating it when I get where it should be the profile changes. I want to use a ball endmill and step it over for the width of the part. I can hand code it but want to be able to use CB for making the code if possible. I am attaching what I am wanting to mill and what CB come up with when i rotate everything. It's something simple I'm sure but I cant figure it out.

First file ( Bottom form) is the profile looking from the side view. I want to be able to use a 0.5 ball endmill to mill this profile about 6 inches wide. When I turn the profile in CB it makes the radius's go off to the sides instead of running true on the axis. 2nd photo shows after rotating it in CB.

if someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong I would appreciate it. I have the Stl file to machine with the 3d option but I haven't figured out how to just cut the top using that and not having the mill do down on the front and back sides yet.

Just saw this post as I am working on a Fanuc EDM also and thinking about using CB. I'm still learning on it but some of  the commands that are not normal to milling would be G50-G51/52 which are taper angle codes to turn it off or right or left taper  and amount of taper. Along with that you need to input a program plane and a thickness plane. There is also G code for corner rounding but I'm not real sure how all of that works yet

Some Mcodes used would be M00 feed hold stop. Might have to just put it in manually as it is used to put a magnet on or something so the slug doesn't fall out. M15 which is for selection of tapering mode. M31 which resets machining timer. M86 which turns the 4 conditions on and M46 which turns them off. THe 4 conditions also have codes to turn them on separately bit I don't know of a reason to use that in a CAD CAM..

I have done minor modifications to the PP's but am not real proficient at it. You can technically get by with getting the profile as there is not feed or speed commands. I know there are also commands to call up different Wire offsets and such but that can be made at the cutter diameter section. Also one to call up different cutting information that is preset but I haven't gotten far enough to figure that all out yet.

If you need anything holler, I'll try my best to answer your questions if you want to try to make one.

CamBam help (General usage) / Re: Need help on how to mill this
« on: May 12, 2021, 03:05:57 am »
Bubba, thanks for trying. I drew them in the only Cad I have really that I know how to run which is CadKey98 ( Yea it's that old ) so I wasn't sure the STL would come through or not Not sure why the DXF didn't other than maybe it's so old of a format. Eddy Currant sent me a working file that I will try in the morning and linked to a plugin that will help also. I drew the entire part and I think it should have just been the profile radius and all that I needed.

Again, thanks you to you both, I'm gonna play with this some in my free time and figure it out but this one needs to be done quickly for the customer.

CamBam help (General usage) / Need help on how to mill this
« on: May 11, 2021, 20:08:44 pm »
I am trying to use Cambam to mill a radiused pocket in a round piece of wood.  I have actually done this before but it's been a while and I can't get it to run right. I am including the CB file along with a DXF and STL. It is basically a 24inch piece of round wood with a 2 inch flat in the bottom and _0.931 deep and a 56.25 radius out to the edge. I can make it do the convex fine but all I seem to get with this is flat lines across the top. I  have an Anilam that I can program to do this but it doesn't have enough travel to run this block so Am going ot have to use a Fadal or cut the diameter down some.

Could someone look at this and tell me what I am doing wrong so I can write it down for next time please. Thanks in advance!

Lathes and Turning / Re: haas TL-! having trouble with radius cutting

I looked at it and I opened my nc file and made the changes to the program there as there wasn't a lot of them.  I"ll try it again this afternoon or tomorrow. Thanks!

Lathes and Turning / haas TL-! having trouble with radius cutting
« on: August 12, 2020, 13:09:23 pm »
I'm trying to use CB for  some simple lathe stuff just to keep from hand writing the programs. I have modified the processor some to get a few  things to work but I haven't gotten it all figured out. I will attach files and pictures to show what it is doing. I draw a simple profile to run with no radius and just lines and angles. For some reason when it writes the code it is putting G2 a d G3 moves in and I am getting a  I,J,K error when I try running it.

I'm thinking it is something in the settings but I can't figure out what it is. I would really appreciate if someone could look at this and see what I am doing wrong or if someone has a processor set up for a Haas lathe that works and could share.
 Thanks!!

CamBam help (General usage) / Re: Using Cambam to program an older wire EDM
« on: February 15, 2018, 18:49:31 pm »
ok thanks! we have a guy here who has modified some PP before so if it is a thing like that we can probably figure it out. I've emailed Fanuc to see if they have or ever had offline software for it but have heard nothing so far.

We have a mill with an Anilam 3000 on it that will convert everything but the canned cycles from CB and use it often for toolpaths. It always amazes me how much CB will do compared to other programs costing way more. And the support on here is fantastic!!
