Eddy,

even though i had no problems in the past, the current version allows me to set the file permissions correctly (allowing a dll to be used from external sources... and once set this item option dissappears in the properties windows od the plugin), cambam will not load the plugin properly (exception fault... see Echo from cambam after being loaded).



Any clue what might cause this? I hope it's not any update from MS causing this....

thx for sharing your recipe!

Not sure if will ever be in need to use this type of prototyping material (i do mainly wood or plastic as my main materials to process), but sure is useful if i ever need it.

At least your recipe is way mor afforadble than an original machinable wax!

I would be interested in seeing how a 'good' capture looks.  I have two .jpg files, one captured in 'document' format, and the other as a photo.  How can I get those to you?

Hello Lloyd,

since the board seems to be in operational mode again:

if it is nothing confidential you can post it here or just send it via upload to a free hoster and send me the link via private message. I can return the vectorized results shortly after.

There is also a quite good online service (which is paid now, but their fees are still acceptable IMO) by the company name (and website) called "vectorize.ai". I was quite pleased by their vecorization results as well.

i got you...

Since i do own a LightBurn license for my laser engraver and it is working quite well, i usually go with it.

Before that i used to used also the services of vectorizer.ai (until they became paid services... but still affordable), since their results were also excellent (or even better than that of  LightBurn).

So it depends really how much effort you are willing to invest in finessing your vectorization results, but IMO both do a great job.

If you want to get an impression how well the results of LightBurn are, you can provide an example of yours that i can gladly vectorize it and return.

first of all happy new year!

Tracing is available on various occasions, depending on your drawing preference.

Starting off with something like the free inkscape drawing continued by almost any version of Coreldraw, Adobe Illustrator and so on and on.... it is available on these systems (including export capability to exportin various formats). I am pretty sure there are  a bunch of free online services as well.

But what about using the built-in tracing functionality of CamBam?!

My preference is using also Lightburns tracing functionlity, which is quite fast and reliable. But usually you a license of it when using a laser engraver.

I've just had a look on the 3Dconnexion website and they have reverted back to drivers 10.8.17
It looks like there may have been issues with 10.8.18 although I have not seen any myself.

I also cannot confirm of having any problems running the withdrawn version.... (yet)
