Problem dxf files etc... / Tool path difference
« on: July 31, 2022, 06:40:56 am »
Hello Forum

It's probably something easy..........
I am failing to understand the tool path difference between the upper and lower profiles.  (tank tabs.JPG)
The lower inverted profiles used in the .cb are a mirror images of the upper.
With Inside/Outside selected to outside, the lower profile executes an inner cut while the upper will go outer (see jpeg)
Thanks again

CamBam help (General usage) / cutting air
« on: May 08, 2019, 19:52:16 pm »
Hello
Hope I'm wording this correctly.  Please refer to the attached .cb.
Profile1 is cut with a .25EM then advances to Profile2 with a .125EM.  The Profile1 small radius cuts are limited by the polyline and tool diameter.  During Profile2, the bit is mainly circling the profile cutting air except for the small radius cuts.

My question is that of reducing "cutting air"..........keeping the 2nd tool (smaller diameter) engaged on the stock rather than having it circle the profile cutting material that isn't there and that was removed in Profile 1.
All help appreciated.  Thanks all!

CamBam help (General usage) / 3D surface, unintended plunges
« on: February 10, 2019, 23:38:37 pm »
Please refer to the attached .cb.
The profile comes out as intended............ except that the bit makes unintended -z plunges (approx 0.030ish") at both extremes in the x direction.  Tried both the horizontal and vertical 3D profile method with no success.  Waterline method will not work for this part.
Any advice on how I can eliminate this behavior and improve my method is greatly appreciated.  Thank you!

Scripts and Plugin Help / unable to load .dll in version 1.0
« on: February 05, 2019, 13:14:46 pm »
I am having trouble loading .dll plugins to my CamBam 1.0 program.

The message received is as follows; "
an attempt was made to load an assembly from a network location which would have caused the assembly to be sand boxed in previous versions of the .NET framework.  The release of the .NET framework does not enable CAS policy by default, so this load may be dangerous.  If this load is not intended to sandbox assembly, please enable the load from RemoteSourcesswitch"

I've researched other threads and am not able to find a solution.  Please advise.  Thanks all!

CamBam help (General usage) / 3D advice
« on: January 07, 2019, 11:38:50 am »
Please refer to two attached cbs.  A transition piece for an adaptor.
The Jan 5 DNE surface milled as intended, no issue ............. So I modified it generating the Jan 6 surface.
The tool paths generated looked good on screen,  but milling it on scrap mdf produced a failed result in that I lost definition of the profile.  See photo

Please show me the error of my way and how I can improve.   Any and all suggestions greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

CamBam help (General usage) / cut ordering
« on: December 16, 2018, 21:49:17 pm »
I've done it before and have forgotten

would someone be kind enough to inform me where I can find information on cut ordering?
Using the outside profile MOP, I am looking to progressively cut a hard and irregular shaped object from the outside working towards the center.  I was thinking that CB would start at the first of the "primitive ID's" and work inward.

Thanks to all responders!

CamBam help (General usage) / Coin
« on: January 28, 2018, 14:53:16 pm »
Please refer to the attachments.
The desired diameter of the coin is to be about 1.625 "
I am looking for suggestions on the best technique in replicating the raised "capture area"  of the coin.  Looking to have a  z height of approximately 0.040" + or -
Height map is not working for me

Thanks all!

Dear Members

Please refer to the attached .cb.  Playing with the trochoidal milling MOP leaves me curious as to why I am receiving differing results.

Results using a .25" endmill with the trochoidal MOP leaves the lower half of the part uncut.  Reducing the mill bit diameter to .125" with the same MOP cuts the entire area........ taking forever.   Using the standard pocketing MOP results with the entire .cb cut. No problemo

In this instance,  would I be better off using standard pocketing?  Is there a setting that I should enable to allow the use of the .25" cutter?

Thank all!

CamBam help (General usage) / how to...........
« on: April 24, 2017, 16:56:32 pm »
Hello Cambam

Not quite CamBam related........but I have the misfortune of breaking a .0625" drill bit about .156" down a .0625 hole in stainless steel.

Is somebody able to give me their best recommendation for a ideally suitable endmill bit to remove material.  Not sure on # of flutes
material etc.   Thanks all!
