Lathes and Turning / Lathe X and Z change
« on: March 26, 2020, 16:51:27 pm »
Hi.

I was using my milling machine also as lathe, where I had extra setup with switched axes in LinuxCNC, so X became Z and Z became X.

I was wondering how to convert the Cambam Lathe output so it would work with regular setup, so I can only put my rotating A-axis onto table (i switch it on/off manually).
I would need to convert output code to X become Z and Z becomes X.
I'm playing with it now for couple of hours, but can't find a working solution after changing x->z and z->x in g-code.

Any help will be appreciated.

Members Machines / New diy CNC

As i do need second mill for smaller jobs, i decided to make second one by myself
Parts were drawn in sketchup and CamBam was used for making the programs.

Machine is made out of aluminium profiles, and 6082-T6 Aluminium plates.

It will run with parallel port, which will be later reconected through Mesa 7i92.

Here some pics from the process:

Feature Requests / Pocket-Finish Stepover at target depth (feedrate)
« on: February 27, 2013, 14:22:39 pm »
Hi.

Is it possible to add speed option to the Finish Stepover?
I mill a pocket at higher feed, and than finish it with stepover at final depth.
I would like to be able to change the finishing feed to lower value.

Thank you, Dejan

Installation Help / CamBam & Linux - Wine
« on: February 14, 2011, 13:56:57 pm »
Hi.

Has anyone successfully installed Installed CamBam+ with Linux Wine?
Because all my computers are now going to the linux platform and now I'm
Having problems with CamBam+

I Don't want to stay under WIN only because of my Favorite Cam Program.

The other programs that I use work under Wine, but I can't get CamBam+ to run.

Is there any workaround or should I just run Virtual Windows machine under linux?

Thank You, Dejan.

What is the couse of this?

And now all my .cb files are useless because cambam ignores the library tool.

It all started when I tried to apply one tab. I have recieved following message

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Feature Requests / Lead out: another option
« on: October 08, 2010, 16:45:43 pm »
Hi.

Is it possible to add LeadOut option, that only slows down at the end of the cut. With setting how many mm before end of the cut the speed will be reduced to user selected speed.

Example:

I cut my things at 2500mm/min, but at the end of the cut, this speed is way to high and parts are braking
away 2-4 mm before end of the cut. If I cut it with say 500mm/min this isn't happening. But 500mm/min
is way to slow for the whole operation.

So if I just could select that the speed will reduce to 500mm/min 10mm before end of the cut, that will be Ideal.

Thank you very much.
