Installation Help / .NET Problem loading plugin(s) - Win11
« on: April 18, 2022, 09:06:11 am »
Dear All,

since a few weeks i had to upgrade my work environment with state of the art PC hardware and i grabbed the opportunity to install Win11 as the new base as well.

Unfortunately i ran into the same problems i had encountered a few times on my old machine (Win10) and was able to solve it by updating bits and pieces of the .NET frameworks that existed on that machine.

So i have the following problem with all 3 CamBam installation (v0.9.8, 1.0(32bit and 64) on my new Win11 (German) system!

Here are the cambam info windows and the error messages.

Here ist the overview of the installed features of .NET on my Win11 system, as well as the contents of the .NET subfolders in the Windows directory itself.

Any ideas on how to get the problem solved are appreciated.

I hope some of you experienced guys can shed some light on this strange occurence i ran into when i discovered this on my screen:

It seems that once i have activated 'Holding Tabs' on the contour (green lines on the screen capture) the consecutive paths of this contour differ slightly (slightly distorted as can be seen in the zoomed area in the lower circled area) rather than laying on top of each other as expected or can be seen on the correct behaviour of the two path in the upper circled area (where i deleted the holding tabs and regenerated the path)!?

I verified that this is not a graphical artefact of some kind by importing the generated nc-code back into CB and.... they still differ in the top view!

So i am wondering if this is a known bug/behaviour or is it just something that is driven by my special case?

Regards,  Tunc

P.S.: i have attached the *.cb file as well

Dear All,

i do have a fresh install of CamBam on Win 8.1 and that of IronPython v2.7.5.
IronPython seems to work fine with some python sample scripts. Also tried David's (dh42) suggestion of repairing CamBam's install in order to make python scripts work, but still i am not able to run any python scripts and do get the error msg from the topic.

Is there any environment variable or any setting to CamBam that i'm missing?!

I'd appreciate some suggestions to make it work.  ???

Regards,

Tunc

CamBam help (General usage) / Engraving operation alongside a 3D Curve
« on: January 16, 2015, 05:16:18 am »
Dear fellow Cambam users,

i am a new user to cambam and since a couple of days i have bought the cambam license. I think it is really a 'big bang for the buck'.

On my current project which i am doing for a friend (Propeller mould) i am having difficulties of generating a notch which could be generated alongside a 3D curve. Unforunately i am not allowed to post the full *.cb file, so i have attached one containing the 3D curve and machining operation itself.

First of all it was quite difficult of importing this curve into cambam, since you cannot merge a second geometric entity into an existing cambam database (but i managed it by importing first the 3D curve and copied it ito the buffer, imported the STL geometry and pasted back into it).

So up to here i managed to do what i intended to do!

But what i wasn't able to achieve (yet... i hope) was to generate an engraving operation (notch created by the 3.175mm diameter endmill tool, 2mm deep in -Z) alongside of this curve.

When i try to do that, i could only generate a flat engraving operation (somehow the 3D curve was projected onto the xy plane and then the engraving was performed). See attached pictures 2 and 3

is there a way to do just what i was trying to do? And if the answer is yes, i'd appreciate a heads up on how to do that.

Thank you in advance & kind regards,

Tunc
