CamBam files (*.cb) / CamBam file help.
« on: November 28, 2020, 19:35:24 pm »
Using Openbuiilds 750x1000 mm OX CNC from hobbyfab.  Cannot seem to get this working. I had everthing set to inches but getting an invalid G2 move. I just converted it back to mm a will test soon.

What I am finding difficult is cutting out pocket with a larger 6mm bit and then simmilar finishing cut with 2mm bit. I thought it might have been the font with some overlaping letters, so I converting it to poly lines and removed the overlaps. Also, it seems like there would be a lot of empty cuts with finishing pass.

Can someone please look at this?

CamBam help (General usage) / Using CNC to cut out scroll saw pattern

Trying to figure the best machining option to cutout a pattern (see attached). A pocket would keep the bit inside the area to be cut but I dont need a pocket. Every other machining operation cuts outside the area. Is there a way to cut a pocket and just cut the perimeter? End mill size suggestions? Feeds and speed suggestions?
