Cambam 1.0 works well with ubuntu 22.04 LTS. Have you tried to use X11 instead of Wayland?

Installation Help / Re: Ubuntu Mate - Ubuntu 20.04.6 LTS - Not Run

Hello, I use ubuntu 22.04.3 64 and everything runs well..
I use the script for starting Cambam as described in the forum, and I installed mono complete.

I think the linux version of Cambam has some problems without the license file.

My 2 cents,

Andrea

Installation Help / Re: After installation in Linux Mint CB is hiding ;)

Hi, probably you have to change the parameter

<DisplayMode>OpenGL</DisplayMode>

and choose GDI or OpenGL_Legacy,

And maybe it's a good idea set <SaveSettingsOnExit>false</SaveSettingsOnExit>

Hello, open a terminal and type:
gedit ~/.config/CamBam\ plus\ 1.0/CamBam1.0.config

Change what you need and save the file.

The configuration file is in your home directory, into the hidden directory .config.

Hello, sorry for my very bad English, I'll try to help.
I don't think there is a limit of plugins in linux version of Cambam.
Now I'm settings a new (old but new for me) laptop with ubuntu 20.04 and CamBam.
I use the installation script  for setting the launcher and some other things,  everything seem good.
I had to install mono-complete AND libmono-microsoft-visualbasic10.0-cil, otherwise some plugins doesn't work.
Now I have more than 50 plugin installed.

Remember to launch the script 'install-launcher.sh' as described here: http://cambamcnc.com/ref/ref.linux
The script must be launched in the same directory as the file cambam-mime.xml.
The fastest way to do it is right click in the directory CamBam 1.0 in your home folder and type ./install-launcher.sh.
After that, if all the mono packet are installed, CamBam will work good, with the right file associations too.

I'M not a guru, but I will try to help you. Try to launch it from a .desktop entry, here the mine as example.

Cambam needs to start from the right location or use a launcher that uses the right location.
Please open it with a text editor and put your data in Exec and Icon.
If Onekk visits  the forum should be a better linux expert.

The configuration file should be in the directory CamBam plus 1.0 inside  the  hidden directory .conf in your Home directory.

During the installation you should put this directory in the right location: ~/.config/ as described in the step 2 in the installation guide.

Good work, enjoy linux and

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!
