How would add the M7 and M9 for coolant activation automatically without editing G-code?

CamBam help (General usage) / Re: Plugins on Windows 7

Thanks,
I’ll have try that. We have 2 VMCs, a Prototrak and a CNC but this little machine will still be useful as we do lots of prototyping.

CamBam help (General usage) / Plugins on Windows 7
« on: February 05, 2024, 12:34:02 pm »
Our little CNC machine uses Mach 3 with Smooth Stepper on a Windows 7 laptop.  I installed CamBam on the laptop and it works fine except for plugins.  On startup it complains about CAS issues with .NET 4.  Any ideas how to fix this?  Not anxious to upgrade Windows as I didn't set this computer up in first place and it runs the machine just fine.

Starting kind rough.  An old friend passed away and I got covid at the funeral, and gave it to a coworker and my wife. We are all recovering.

Found out yesterday that nearly everyone at the funeral got covid!  Bad stuff.

Kelly,
This work is when a really badass computer makes a difference. In the case of actual cutting about the best you can do is minimize air cutting and have a machine with really high rapids. My machine cuts well at 100 ipm and rapids at 300ipm but commercial machines often rapid at 700-2000 ipm.

When you see lines that don’t end at other lines it usually indicates someone is not using snaps, which is absolutely important. Most cad programs have a fillet function. I use it all the time with a zero radius because it will trim both lines to the exact intersection point.

I’d  happily pay a yearly maintenance fee to keep CamBam alive and relevant. I realized the other day I been using it for 10 years. Its kind of like the Leatherman tool in my pocket.

Lloyd,
Sorry to hear about your accident. My dad did it too, as well as one of my best friends.  I cut the tip of my middle finger off on a fire siren. It was sensitive for almost ten years and finally grew back entirely.

The problem isn’t that you only two digits. This problem happens on virtually all CNCs on arcs when the ends and center are too far off at two decimals. I used to get drawings from customers with 2 decimal dimensions that I couldn’t program from. I had to beg a lot of them to go 4 decimals because they thought it would add cost by specifying unneeded precision. It cost a lot more when I couldn’t finish a program !

Hope I can still CNC at 82, I'll be 70 in two weeks.

Why wouldn’t you just move the Z an amount so small it has no effect on the laser focus. 0.0001” or 0.001mm
