New Machine Onefinity/Masso
« on: October 26, 2024, 04:03:53 am »
I've been mostly a milling guy, but I recently ordered an "Elite Foreman" router from Onefinity with a Masso controller.  Any other CB users running a Masso controller?
I've been running Mach 3 and LinuxCNC for years and I am familiar with many of the differences in operation, code support, and code implementation.  I don't know a thing about Masso controllers.  Well not much anyway.  It appears, like many controllers, to use a limited set of the Fanuc standard instruction set.  I'd appreciate a heads up on anything significantly missing or different.
I'll be running a 24k 2 pole spindle so it won't be rigid or TC tapping, but thread milling, 3D carving, fast pecking, other intermediate operations are much implemented on other high speed spindles I am currently running.
I'll also repost on the CB forum when it comes back online again.

If I have the time I'll be glad to show you a little in my shop.

I don't know a thing about Masso controllers.

David tells you the URL of the MASSO Website. There are the G-Codes and the Syntx
There is almost no difference to the “default” PP.

Sorry Bob,
I wrote one sentence about it, then the forum was gone again.
I had written that the “default” PP would work. This is the standard DIN 66025 / ISO 6983 G-Code.

CamBam does not support the deviating G-codes, so you don't need to worry about that.
G30: move to Park Position can be inserted as a macro at the end of the G-code (mop footer).
G32 - Threading Cycle works in CamBam with the plugin and is output in normal G1, G2, G3 code.
The cycles G38.6, G38.7 do not exist because CamBam does not support cycles.
The same applies to the laser and plasma parameters.

With the Masso, everything that CamBam outputs can be processed by the Masso controller. Masso can do more, but CamBam cannot output that.

Thank you.  I have been studying this too.  I've got another mill retrofit to do, and I was considering the Masso G3 Touch for it as well instead of assembling a controller from bits and pieces like I have done in the past.  This Onefinity with Masso will give the experience to let me know if I'll like it or not.
