Win11 24H2 - Installation problems

Hello guys

Has someone encountered installation problems with CamBam 1.0 and Windows 11 24H2 ?  (and know how solve the problem)

I get this question on the support but unfortunately I do not have PC with W11 to test .. and Andy has not replied at the moment.

We are currently blocked with this version of CamBam, regardless of whether the installation is 32-bit or 64-bit. Could you please take a closer look at this issue and provide us with a simpler and faster solution?

we’d prefer not to downgrade and to stay on Windows 11 — ideally the latest version. It seems the issue arises specifically with Windows 11 version 24H2, as we experience no problems with version 21H2.

My personal advice would be to drop back to V21H2 (or better, back to a stable version of Win10) and turn off ALL Windows Updates, forever.  Every update they do is deliberately destructive to any non-MicroCRAP software.  It's a criminal act that nobody will punish.

I'm running Cambam on Windows 11 24H2 without problems.
I tried installing a new copy but the installer gave me two options, repair cambam or uninstall cambam, I don't want to do either.

A recent update ( yesterday 9 July 2025) included this;
2025-07 Cumulative Update for .NET Framework 3.5 and 4.8.1 for Windows 11, version 24H2 for x64 (KB5056579)

I have those .NET versions installed for compiling plugins so maybe it's to do with that ?

Try running the installer with Admin rights.

I forwarded the link to this thread to the requester in the hope it might help, but I'm afraid we'll have to wait for a new Windows update for everything to be back in order.

The requester is a company that sells CNC machines with PCs and Cambam installed (turnkey) and probably doesn't have the time to perform these operations on every PC. (I assume they buy the PCs with the last Windows version already installed, so downgrade to V21 is not a profitable option)

What a joy to still be on Win 7
