SUPER SLOW refresh times on the CB site
« on: September 12, 2025, 21:52:13 pm »
David,
I've confirmed that isn't my connection.  All my other sites refresh instantly, and we have high-speed optical fiber service now.

But the CB site is refreshing very (VERY) slowly.  I've tried rebooting my browsers.  I've rebooted my computers (two).  Only this site seems affected.

???

Hello

Yesterday I noticed that the forum is a little slow (not tested the site), but now all seems OK ... but of course I can't talk for optical fiber speed, I'm still in ADSL 1024 ...

I hope it is not an announcement of problem ... each time the forum crashed, I noticed that it first become slow.

edit: I performed a "database optimization" and an "empty file cache" on the admin panel ... not sure it change something ...

Hello

Yes, same for me, it is dependent of the day time ; currently (midnight) when I click on the Cambam icon of the browser, it take ~6 to 10s for the browser to react and to get the page displayed ... (nothing happens during 6/10s, but after this delay, the page is displayed immediately)

I have had very slow connections several times in the last few days. I tested the connection to the CB server with a traceroute that tracks the route from different cities (https://tools.keycdn.com/traceroute). Enter the CB domain or the IP 95.128.15.161 there. Today, connections from the USA are affected, as there is a lot of packet loss.
The response times of the CB server average 250 ms. That is very slow.
If the packets are then lost 5 more times along the way, the entire connection becomes slow.
Traceroutes from the USA and Asia have high losses, while traceroutes between Europe and the UK are currently fast. The CamBam server also responds in 50 ms.
Today the website is fast for me.

Though I can't be sure this is true for this instance of the CB site being slow, I've experienced similar super slow to unavailable issues with other forum sites I belong to that have attributed this to AI bots copying all data that can be scrubbed from their webservers.

Hello David,
Please do not immediately blame Andy's server if the connection to the server is not working.
First, please perform a traceroute from different locations. https://tools.keycdn.com/traceroute is a good tool for this.
Currently, connections from the US and Asia are losing 100% of the packets. The connection is then repeated until the packets arrive, but this takes time.
In the last few days, I haven't been able to access the CamBam server at all. The connection always failed at a node. I then used the Tor browser. It finds its way through the Tor network and works even when there are connection problems.

From France, I am currently seeing connection losses at a node adm-bb1-link.ip.twelve99.net (62.115.138.166).
I am trying this from three French cities
https://globalping.io/network-tools/traceroute-from-france
Twice, 100% of the packets are lost. Then new packets are requested from the server, which then have to travel the entire distance again.
With many nodes and up to 90 ms per node, this quickly results in a timeout.

The connections are currently very poor, especially at night. However, this is often not due to Andy's server.
