Mostly a 3DConnexion question. I updated the driver to latest 10.6.7 for my SpaceExplorer USB to my Windows 10 laptop. The device was recognized by Windows but the blue light only came on for a second and went off. The 3D mouse would not work with any software including 3DConnexion demos. I downgraded to 10.5.15 and all is good again.

1) Any ideas how to troubleshoot why this driver update is not working?
2) Do I really need to upgrade to 10.6.7? Are there needed features?
3) I did not try to downgrade to 10.6.0? Might that be worth a try?

Thanks,
Ken

Ken,

Did you check that drivers 10.6.7 support your mouse ? *** SpaceExplorer is not listed ***

If you search for older products it suggests you should use version 10.4.3

10.6.7 is working okay for me in CamBam and Rhino.

As far as the CamBam plugin is concerned there are no differences between all versions, it's just that when 3DConnexion bring out a new driver I have to recompile the plugin with their updated software otherwise the plugin won't load.

Versions 10.6.6 (that was quickly withdrawn by 3DConnexion) and 10.6.7 were the first versions where the old driver had to be uninstalled first by the user, so that might hold a clue to a new problem.

I appreciate the quick response. I did look in the 3DConnexion archive based on my particular model device and saw the 10.4.x recommendation. I decided to try the 10.5.15 since that was the last release in 10.5 and it works well in CamBam, Fusion 360 and Sketchup. I downgraded my CamBam plugin to 10.5.15 and all is good.

I'll just stick with 10.5.15 for now.

Does anyone on the Forum have any experience getting this 3D mouse working with Vectric VCarve? Vectric has no interest in directly supporting 3DConnexion so I'm hoping I can do some basic generic integration.

Thanks,
Ken

I started to get problems using drivers 10.8.2 with CamBam and also Rhino7. Both would take a long time to open and Rhino7 kept crashing.
Once I reverted back to 10.6.4 everything worked fine again.
The reason I went back to 10.6.4 was due to the fact that it was the latest archived version 3DConnexion offered on their website.
