BTW, I downloaded the plugin but the plugin menu shows me 'plugin disabled' so I guess that's why the keypresses aren't working :/
Tried to find an 'enable plugins' setting but nothing jumps to my attention...

Thanks for taking the time tho...

There's nothing special about this plugin so I imagine you have the same issue with all of them ?

Yes, none are listed in the menu in any case. There must be something about 'mono' the .NET VM thing.

Plugins are disabled in Linux unless you have a license.  They do work in Windows when in the trial period.
See the comments near the bottom of http://www.cambam.info/ref/ref.linux .

I've just started evaluating CamBam using Ubuntu 14.04.

The instructions here don't currently mention 14.04.
http://www.cambam.info/ref/ref.linux

Anyway the 12.02* method worked for me except I changed the "mouse-button-modifier" to:

<Control><Alt>

Now Alt rotates in CamBam.  Holding both Ctrl and Alt drags a window.

Yes it is good. Because I don't use Linux it never occurred to me that a solution might already exist.
Is it fair to say now that the plugin I did is not required now ? if so that's great because the key combinations can be used for something else.

All your work isn't for naught, the OP doesn't use a mouse.  I like the incremental movement with the keyboard, so I will be using both.  Thanks again.
TIA,

Rick
