Script to import gerbers
« on: October 18, 2015, 17:26:04 pm »
To make toying with pcb isolation routing easier, I wrote a tiny script for batch import of top/bottom/edge gerbers + drill.

Please find it useful )

PS Excellon plugin must be installed for .drl import
PPS Just noticed a File Merge plugin could be used for task, but ... anyway.

Hello,

CamBam should open gerber files natively .. (I've no file to test)

It recognize *.gbr, *.gbl, *.gtl and *.gbo

Yes, CamBam read gerbers just fine. Script just asks CamBam to opens several gerbers (top/bottom/egde - they are separate files) + excellon drill file and merges them into the current document, while creating named layers.
No need to open several CamBam instances, copypaste geometry etc.

The document will look like after the script call as in attached screenshot.

Your script is very useful. We can load the 4 files, scale and move the routes quick and automatically.

I wish I had found it before.

Kicad place the routes away from origin and some time ago I strugled with mm/inch scalling.

Big thanks!!!!
