"You cannot deprive everybody of access to scarce information available on programming because of a dishonest."
--------------
Maybe not, David, but you can sure make him PAY for his infraction (if not in money, then by loss of reputation).

Any jot or tittle I put to paper is copyrighted to ME, even if I do not officially apply for a government copyright.

Unless I freely distribute my work (which I usually do by comments in the source), it's MINE, not his -- and even then, I require that I be given 'credits' for the work (if not pay).  If he wants to use anything I do NOT freely-distribute - especially for profit - then he must pay money.

That's the "law of the land" in almost every civilized country.

The lack of response clearly shows that it was a spam bot and if I were the moderator the whole thread would be long ago thrown in the bin.

No, apparently NOT a 'bot'.  The author responded until David challenged him on 'ownership' of the software.  THEN he ceased communications.

Anyway... anyone who buys CamBam is NOT going to spend that sort of money on a stolen plugin, when the 'real thing' can be had here, for free.

Wow.  I am really touched by all folks here leaping to my (well, v-engrave's) defense. I certain appreciate the response, especially because I've been pretty much ignoring the plugin for quite some time now.  I've been hip deep in welding and manual machining projects of late, and my poor little Taig has been sitting on the bench partially dismantled.

That said, v-engrave is an open source project, released under a very permissive license, and people are permitted to use, extend, enhance, and incorporate the code as they see fit. So, as far as I'm concerned, no harm no foul. The author may have even tried to contact me; I got an email written in French a while back, but I don't speak French.

No I don´t.
I use a empty Win7 in Parallels Desktop, it is broken I use a new one.
On this drive I have no antivir installed. I still have this drive, how can I check it for changes?
V-Engrave 0.0.0.8 works without problems

Ralf,
I think because you are running a virtual Windows it is not the same as someone using a native Windows machine.
You are most likely okay.
I'm not saying problems will exist, but given the changes the plugin made to your CamBam, plus the fact that it does almost nothing, was there another purpose to running it ?

I try the plugin today again.
I create the layers with text and this names. I create the tools and the cam stiles.
The plugin do nothing for me (without the popup). Maybe I'm too stupid to use it.
After using I make a scan with "HijackThis" and with avira antivir. I had found nothing.
Maybe this is like the "useless machine".

hello
this plugin can´t do anything for me:
Ce module peut être essayé trois sessions CamBam…
translation
This module can be tried three sessions with CamBam….

I had more then 3 crashes at the beginning with the v-engrave plugin installed. With this manual I have so much guess I probably need 10 fresh computer to see the first success.
I'm out and not testing more.
If someone receives a resultat he can please upload a file so I can see this result. For writing this expensive pdf…. ;D
