IT IS WORKING!!

Thanks to all who offered help, specially to Eddy who took the time and effort to create precise a easily to understand schematic along with detailed instructions. Following this, connected the wires, flipped the switch and.. voila  :D ;D

Surprisingly don't have to wait long at all to change rotation of the chuck. Post link to video soon, I hope.. ;) :D ;D

Thanks again.

Here is video I have promised.. https://youtu.be/MkNlix74qgg

Thanks, I used to get a lot of practice writing instructions, mainly to avoid call-outs through night when the electricians got stuck.

Hi All, I know this is an old topic but I need for some help again.

The old motor on my lathe died and need to install replacement for it and certainly want to avoid the 'magic smoke' ;D

The same reversible switch is used, so I attached schematic for it, and motor connections schematic as well. Any detailed suggestion will very much appreciated.
Connections are for 220v.

Not sure if this help or not, but I just ringed wires #2 and #6, both connected to capacitor.

Thank you.

Hello

Almost the same here, but I do not know what is the difference between the FM143456 (yours) and the FM143456C of the site.

Bubba, the motor TELLS you how to do it.

Wire the motor for 220V.  Wire the switch so that either position gives power to the Line 1 and Line 2 inputs, and leads 6 and 8 are reversed depending upon the position of the switch.

Maybe a photo of the motor terminals will bring more clarity. Too many terminal numbers there and I don't know what 'INS' means, maybe 'insulated', so those terminals are used for internal bridged connections?
AFAIK in US electric power supply is different than the European. For single phase 220V we use one live phase and neutral 'N'. While in the USA 220V are between two live phases of a 3 phase supply.

But what Lloyd says seems correct to me. Just swapping the connection between terminals (t. 6 & 8 ) should change rotation direction.

Lloyd and Dragonfly.

Thank you for suggestions.

After careful measuring and studying those wires I come up with working solution. What made challenging, are all those wires even though they were labeled T1, T3, ect still it took time to sort this all out. There are no terminal board, all wires are connected to corresponding wires with wire nuts and shrink wrapped. Yes, the 'Ins' means connected to each other and insulated. For detailed connections please see attached drawing .

Be Well All..
