error message when trying to save cb .... Linux
« on: December 15, 2019, 23:44:25 pm »
This is not truly a installation issue because I have copied the CamBam folder from one computer where its running well to another computer with the same OS.  With a new installation of the same version of mono as the original computer.  Things appear to work pretty well but when I try to save a file with data or empty I get this error after putting the file name in the window and hitting save.  Nothing is returned to the terminal where CamBam was started by the cambam.sh

There was an error reflecting type 'VEngraveForCamBam.MOPVEgrave'

Another odd thing is the icons above the MOP window are pink squares with the icon in them.

If this was the wrong place to post this maybe a moderator can move it.

Thanks
Jim

Are you sure that the V-engrave plugin is the same on your both PCs ?

Also, the problem can be on the config file ; it's called "CamBamPro1.0.config" (or 0.98 if you're using CB 0.98) ; search it on your new insta and remove it ; it is in the ".config/CamBam plus 1.0" folder. (it will be regenerated when you run cambam again)

Also, the newly copied files are most probably owned by the root, not the user. All files in 'home/<user name>/.config/CamBam plus 1.0' folder must have the user set as their owner. Also all files in  'home/<user name>/CamBam1.0'
Try running 'sudo ~/CamBam1.0/cambam.sh' from terminal. If CB works ownership is the reason.

Hey kids

Running Centos 7

CamBam plus [1.0] Rel 16 Linux
Copyright © 2018 HexRay Ltd

CamBam.CAD : 1.0.6753.24057
CamBam : 1.0.6753.24059
Build Date : 6/28/2018 2:21:54 PM
Framework Version : 4.0.30319.42000

well apparently this was caused by a number of issues.  I reinstalled CamBam1.0-mono-alpha16-64bit.tgz
then added the "material, machinedefs" to the .config/CamBam plus 1.0/    directory and now it appears to
run like nomal....

Are any of the current R3 versions on the download site usable in Centos ??

Thanks again for the help,  sorry it was so long before replying but time slips away
Jim
