importing dxf not respect layers
« on: October 05, 2020, 15:02:15 pm »
Hi,
I'm surprising that my last .dxf is not imported correctly: shapes are not in the right layer and all layers are green.
I done dxf with qcad, and I can read it with correct layer's color in LibreOfficeWriter! But not with Cambam.
With old version if this file, I havn't problem.

I havn't change nothing to my Windows10-64, nothing to my CamBam 1.0.7364.41821.

Is somebody can help me please?

The file (reduced) is attached.

Best

Hello

Your DXF format is too recent (AC1027, ACad 2013 to 2017) use the Autocad R12 / R13 or 2000 format to save your DXF.

http://www.cambam.info/doc/dw/1.0.0/file-menu.html

Autodesk DXF files - up to AutoCAD 2000 format (*.dxf)

Thank you.
I saved it in R13, R14, pb is not solved. In R12 version, it's ok. Thanks a lot.
Is there a way to check in wich version a dxf file is saved?

Yes, open the DXF with a text editor a search for a line like ACxxxx where xxxx is the version (in the line 8 on your file)

:) How react DXF formats are often a mystery !!

I use ACAD 2000/2002 most of the time (AC1015)

Same here : https://cambamcnc.com/forum/index.php?topic=8115.0

very strange, very strange...

in between I found out :
"greening" happens often after renaming layers

repair :
load greened file into qcad
select layer 0
draw a line and remove it
wait approx. 10-15 seconds
now overwrite file using "save as"

Maybe you'll need 2 or 3 tries.

Very strange behaviour... very strange...
best regards

Bernhard
