3D machining overview
« on: November 20, 2021, 22:52:19 pm »
Hello guys ;)

I just translate a document that I did for the French doc ; it is not yet finished but maybe it can be of some help for beginners to understand the two different 3D machining modes.

http://www.atelier-des-fougeres.fr/Cambam/Aide_V1/tutorials/Usinage3D_overview_EN.html

have fun  ;D

(feel free to report translation errors ;))

That's a great tutorial. Combined with the recent experience and your assistance in my previous thread, I have a much better understanding of the respective 3D ops and how to best utilize them to create an efficient surface machining strategy for various shapes.

On translation, I had no problems, except possibly the use of the word delimit. If the several places it appears is really intended to mean being or to be without limit, then maybe it is indeed best choice.

I look forward to updates and eventual release to the English documentation.

Best,
Kelly

"....the word delimit. If the several places it appears is really intended to mean being or to be without limit,..."

-----------------
In fact, the common English use of the word is to express the LIMITING of something, not the freedom from limits.

If one 'delimits' a space on a work-piece, it means to mark its boundaries, so that presumably nothing is done beyond those margins.

https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/delimit

And, having read the article, I would say David used the word correctly.
