Unexpected File Save Dialogue
« on: January 06, 2022, 06:51:53 am »
I have just created a fresh install of CamBam 1.0 on a fresh install of Linux Mint 20.2 Cinnamon.
CamBam launches from the menu happily but as soon as I have completed drawing an entity the Save dialogue pops up.
Saving seems to operate normally, not saving shuts CamBam down, as would be expected, and Canceling the dialogue works briefly but it reappears shortly thereafter.
Is anyone else experiencing similar problems, or had them in the past?
The dialogue only seems to pop up in association with drawing operations - I can open menus including the right click context menu but it is as if once an entity is drawn then an automatic save operation is invoked.

I did save a file with a rectangle drawn. This appears to open normally but, after either selecting the entity using menu or clicking blank space in the drawing window CamBam simply shuts down, it also shuts down after about 30 seconds after opening the file without doing anything further.

I have removed and regenerated the configuration files but it is still happening.

Mono appears to be up to date although it is not from the official repository

I note LLVM is enabled but have no idea of the difference being enabled makes.

For what they are worth I have attached the rectangle file (nnn.cb) and my system info file (bhdc.txt).

If anyone has a solution to this I would be grateful, otherwise I will have to revert to Mint 19.1 which was working previously.

I'M not a guru, but I will try to help you. Try to launch it from a .desktop entry, here the mine as example.

Cambam needs to start from the right location or use a launcher that uses the right location.
Please open it with a text editor and put your data in Exec and Icon.
If Onekk visits  the forum should be a better linux expert.

Thank you both for answers.
Are we talking about a Linux Mint 20.x installation in all cases as I am beginning to suspect that is the fly in my ointment.
Had no problems with Linux Mint 19.x previously but would prefer to persist with 20 if others are succeeding with it.
